Patrol

The Patrol Division of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office operates three shifts, each with a Supervising Sergeant. Alongside these three shifts are Field Training Officers and School Resource Deputies. We are committed to proactive patrolling and traffic enforcement for the protection of the citizens of Buchanan County.

Deputy Patrols are responsible for the investigation of criminal activity and traffic enforcement throughout the 441 miles of roads in Buchanan County. The Patrol Division actively works with the Civil Process, Corrections, Drug Strike Force, and Investigation Units of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office as well as other outside law enforcement agencies.

Deputies of the Road Patrol Division are also the primary responders for the Watch Residence Program. They proactively check our rural businesses and problem areas to attempt to prevent incidents of theft and vandalism. The residence program is most successful when citizens are actively involved. You, the citizens of Buchanan County, are our best resource in preventing criminal activity. This partnership with the citizens supports the divisions' mission to keep your property, homes, and families safe.
