Drug Court Program

Goal

To stop drug and alcohol abuse and related criminal activity and help offenders return to being productive and responsible citizens.

Setup

Our office is part of the drug court team headed by a judge and made up of court staff, prosecutors, probation officers, substance abuse evaluators, and treatment professionals who work together in a joint decision-making capacity to support and monitor a participant's recovery.

Program

• A standardized assessment process used to identify eligible non-violent offenders
• Very rigorous program with intensive supervision
• Frequent drug testing and court appearances
• Tightly structured treatment and recovery services
• Collaborative link among court, prosecutor, probation officer, treatment provider, and participants
• A system of graduated sanctions and incentives to encourage recovery goals and hold offenders accountable for non-compliant behaviors.
