Meet the Buchanan County Auditor Tara Horn

 Tara attended Missouri Western State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting degree.  In 2001 she started in the real estate industry as an escrow officer then transitioned into a licensed real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stein and Summers Real Estate in 2011.  Tara became the Buchanan County Auditor in January of 2008.  She serves on the City of St. Joseph Land Bank Board; she also is an advisor for the Housing Improving Initiative.  Tara is married and has 2 children.   In her free time her passion is advancing homeownership for low to moderate income persons in St. Joseph, Missouri and enhance community beautification in deteriorating neighborhoods.
