The Civil Process Division of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office is directed by Sergeant Samantha Crawford. Currently, 4 deputies and 5 clerks are assigned to this division. Deputies are responsible for the service of legal process to Buchanan County residents. Each deputy serves a geographical area.
Our Civil Process Team handle all protection orders and deals with any requested court documents that need to be served. Evictions are scheduled once the proper paperwork has been received from the courts.
Both hard files and computer entries are maintained for validation of protection orders issued under Missouri's Adult Abuse statutes or Child Protection statutes.
The Warrants team handles all incoming warrants and the validation and computer entry of those warrants. They are responsible for maintaining hard copy warrant files, confirming warrant inquiries from outside agencies, and scheduling out of state extradition for the transport unit.
The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for Certificate of Qualification to obtain a Concealed Carry endorsement from the Missouri Department of Revenue. Applications are accepted by appointment only, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at the Civil Process Division of our office.
When the applicant submits the application the applicant must produce a copy of a Missouri Driver's or Non-Drivers Identification showing a Buchanan County address or a current military Identification card with current orders of stationing in Missouri. If the applicant has served in the military, they will be required to produce a copy of their DD-214.
The applicant is required to produce a standard Missouri Form of Firearms Safety Qualification. A qualification form showing the successful completion of the required firearms safety course from any qualified firearms safety instructor is acceptable.
The application fee is $100.00 cash or cashier's check, made payable to the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office.
