Divisions

Michelle Davidson began working with the Buchanan County Prosecutor’s Office in 2018 and elected as the 1st woman Prosecutor in Buchanan County in 2023.    She has been a licensed attorney in Missouri for over 20 years specializing in the area of criminal law. Davidson obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She graduated cum laude from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting.

Davidson began her career in public service in 2001 when she joined the Buchanan County Public Defender’s Office. She served as the District Defender from 2005-2008.  In 2008, Davidson transferred to the Fourth Circuit Public Defender’s Office where she continued to serve as the District Defender prior to joining the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in 2018.

 As a trial attorney, Davidson has handled numerous jury trials which include cases of first degree murder and other serious crimes against persons. She has previously served as an elected council member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Missouri Bar.

 Davidson is very active in our community.  She serves on the boards of LUBA (Noyes Home) and Habitat for Humanity.  She is also a current member of Junior League, the Criminal Justice Advisory Council and is a past graduate of Leadership St. Joseph.
